OSHA manages their content within the Plone CMS and generates updated PDF documents automatically as part of their internal editorial process. We delivered the Produce & Publish platform using the PrinceXML converter and implemented the client-side integration with the Plone CMS. Our solution worked out-of-the-box perfectly with all 22 languages used within the European Union - including Greek and all east-european languages. In addition we implemented the templates and styles for the PDF generation based on the OSHA styleguide. We implemented this project on behalf of Syslab.

ZOPYX implemented the integration of the Produce and Publish services into the Plone CMS of our client EU-OSHA, as well as the template for PDF generation based on the client's style guide. The client is now able to produce well formatted PDF reports on the fly in all European languages, including Greek and Bulgarian (Cyrillic letters). Thanks to a smartly structured API, we were easily able to extend the software and build a customised solution on top of it to fit customer-specific requirements.

As part of a bigger project we implemented as system empowering thw websit editors of the DEISA Website www.deisa.eu to use a unified user-interface for both managing and editing content and to convert the content into high-quality PDF documents. As part of the project we used the well-known features of HTML to produce a PDF documents in an outstanding quality:

  • hyperlinks are converted to footnotes
  • links between HTML pages (through anchors) are replaced with "See page X"
  • links to tables are replaced with "See table Y"
  • links to images are replaced with "See image Z"
  • enumeration of tables and graphics
  • automatic table of contents generation
  • left-right handling of page numbers
  • cover pages
  • automatic hyphenation
  • handling of orphans and window lines

Besides the management of content and conversions, editors can also edit and manage the conversion templates and the conversion stylesheets through the same user interface.

The Produce & Publish Authoring Environment integrates nicelywith the Plone security concept and allows multiple editors on work on documents in parallel. By using the workflow system of Plone it is possible to publish a finished document - both PDF or as consolidated HTML - with a single mouse-click.

(DGHO). The portal is powered by Plone 4 and the newest version of the Produce & Publish Authoring Environments of ZOPYX.

Onkopedia functionality

  • medical guidelines in the field of hematology and oncology
  • "My Onkopedia"
  • a database with supplementary informations
  • archiving functionality for guidelines
  • PDF generation through Produce & Publish (table of content generation, captions for images and tables, automatic numbering of tables and images)
  • commenting functionality

As part ot the project zopyx group implemented a migration functionality taking the existing guidelines from a MoinMoin wiki and importing them after a cleanup set into Plone. In additional step we manually cleaned up an sample guideline in order to demonstrate the options of the  Produce & Publish platform.
